About the Artist - Margo
Based in Perth, Western Australia, I am a Canadian | Australian artist with a passion for creating one-of-a-kind contemporary pieces inspired by organic shapes surrounding us in nature. Coming from a family with a painting and musical background, creativity has always played a big part in my life. I was very fortunate to be exposed to the wonderful world of performing arts, museums, ballet and the opera from a very young age, cultivating that appreciation and passion which has led me to my own artistic pursuits. When I was younger I predominantly used to sketch. It only evolved into painting a few years ago, when Covid hit
and I thought I would broaden my artistic skills by going out of my comfort zone.

For me, the best part about contemporary art is the result is entirely subjective, captivating and completely unique to the beholder. What someone sees is only limited by their imagination. When browsing through my collection I invite you to explore and let your creativity run wild. Creative Process
I love experimenting with different styles within the
contemporary realm. I get an incredible sense of excitement looking at a blank canvas as it is so full of possibilities. I never know what a piece will end up like until I have actually finished it. Even if I have a certain idea in my head, I am fully guided by my instincts and let the canvas lead me to whatever the piece will end up being.

Most of my work is Lyrical Abstraction, inspired by aerial photography of natural landscapes. Using flowing techniques with water and acrylics gives me complete freedom in expression and allows me to blend and layer shades together to create either a delicate, silk like appearance, or a dark more mystical vibe. ​
